Okeanos (also called Oceanus) was the Greek/Roman titan God of the “river” that flows around the Earth.

It is somewhat of an ethereal moment when a large whaleshark first cruises underneath you. The amazing spot pattern moves like a celestial galaxy cruising through the deep blue, but then it is the shape and massive size that truely gathers your attention, these truly are beautiful titans of the deep. Totally harmless, these giants feed on plankton and small fish. Which is good to know when you see one coming towards you with a mouth seemingly large enough to swallow you whole. Whalesharks inhabit tropical and warm-temperate seas worldwide and in Australia they frequent Ningaloo Reef on the west coast.
