Delicate corals like this are found on most tropical reefs in the world. I found this example on a murky dive in the area above Exmouth Gulf near the Ningaloo Reef. Like most corals the resemblance to plant life was unbelievable. It appeared more like a cluster of tiny flowers than any coral I had yet seen. Close inspection reveals each animals mouth at its centre, where on a plant would appear simply the stamen and pollen.
