Whilst photographing soft coral trees in the northern reaches of the Indian Ocean, I happened to examine through my lens the detail within the trunk of a large coral tree. I was astounded at the shapes and patterns, something that more resembled micro organisms through a microscope then the tough elastic base of a soft coral.
