The sea-bed of the Andaman Sea is in places made up of silt and rubble, and sitting proudly on the bottom were strange, perfectly round clumps of small "rocks". Closer examination revealed them to be sea urchins that had spines with gripping cups at the ends that resembled flowers. The cups held small rocks, so that each urchin was almost completely protected and camouflaged. Here you can see a section of cups that was free of rocks.
