Like ethereal manifestations of the deep, these hammerhead sharks gradually appear from the gloom and pass above me. No other shark that I have seen swims with the sinusoidal beauty of these hammerhead sharks but it is difficult to witness as hammerheads are extremely timid and the locations where they mass together in large numbers usually require very deep diving in low visibility cold water with strong currents. Once you have overcome those obstacles, quiet and calm patience is the key, as they don't instantly appear and will only come within sight once they have become used to your presence.
