Leafy seadragons are works of art in their own right. They need no interpretation from my photography at all; just about any composition creates a masterpiece. Juveniles have the most delicate and elongated protrusions but, as they age, the appendages become more rounded and some can actually be broken or bitten off by other sea creatures. Found along the south coast of Australia from Cape Naturaliste to Victoria.
