Fire coral forms itself into incredible structures often taking on sculptural forms comprised of layers and layers of stinging coral branches. As such its a very safe haven for many fishes and these jewelled fairy basslets stay within quick reach of the coral in case of danger. Other fish that are hunting the basslets are wary of getting too close to the coral. Faery is considered to be the mythical home of fairies and as such the perfect name for these prints that are available as a set and individually:- Faery I, Faery II and Faery III. Photographed in the Red Sea but typical of this species throughout the tropical Indo/Pacific region.
The latest advances in technology allow these images to be printed using high quality pigment ink onto archival grade canvas. We believe this process has an archival permanence far higher than any traditional form of photographic enlargement with the minimum life rated to be in excess of 75 years. Each limited edition from the collection is printed individually, only as of when it is ordered by the client. After sealing to increase the archival properties of the print and then subsequent stretching over a quality timber frame, it is personally checked and approved by me before it is signed and numbered into its edition.
A signed authenticity certificate will come with each limited edition and contains additional information about the image. Print editions for the images currently within the collection are limited to either fifty, seventy five or one hundred prints, depending on the image. Once each edition of an image is sold out, a small proof run will be released and then it will not be printed again as a canvas.
The canvas sizes priced on the website are my most popular but should you require something larger, in between, or even a slightly different ratio, please contact us to discuss this. I carefully do all my own printing and can custom size easily upon request.
Using the exact same pigment inks as the canvas prints, these are printed onto archival grade matte cottonrag.
Each comes complete with archival off-white mat-board plus a backing board, so that they are ready to frame and it is signed and dated with the year that the photograph was taken.
Using the exact same pigment inks as the canvas prints, these are printed onto archival grade matte cottonrag in the same manner as the matted prints but in larger size. They are then rolled up into a tube for easy shipping to you. A contemporary take on the traditional block mounted print. Each timber block is created by us at the gallery with a smooth natural wood finish.
The new version of the print laminate now features a micro-weave texture with superior adhesion, improved edge finish and a scratch resistant satin top laminate, in essence it resembles a mini canvas look and feel to the image surface.
They can be purchased on their own or as a set of prints and can be displayed free-standing or hung from a single screw or nail. The perfect choice for a modern clean look but equally at home in a traditional setting, these blocks are the simple and cost effective way to purchase a Glen Cowans’ print without needing to factor in the cost of framing as for the matted prints.
Whilst we do carry some stock most canvas prints are printed only upon ordering, please allow up to two
