LATEST EXHIBITION - FotoFreo 2008
Opening Night Invitation - Wed April 9 2008.

After 25 exhibitions showing the incredible colours of the marine world, Louise and I would like to invite you to my first exhibition to feature primarily monochromes. Often thought of as black and white photography, monochrome in essence translates as "of one colour." So whilst my photographic monochromes are indeed printed as black and white, I have included
in the exhibition a few of my works which are naturally monochromatic, either where the subject is of one colour or the existing ambient light has created a monochromatic effect.

This year for FotoFreo I have been honoured that prominent local Fremantle Artist Andrew Carter has graciously allowed me use of half of his amazing gallery situated right next door to the Old Roundhouse Prison. This is an incredible location, quite fitting for a FotoFreo exhibition with such a classic maritime feel. Andrew Carter's paintings will also still feature in the other half of his gallery allowing you to view his incredible talent at the same time as viewing my work.

We hope you can make it along, RSVP GREATLY APPRECIATED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
( 0434 174 588 or info@glencowans.com )

CarterStudios Gallery
9 Captain's Lane, Fremantle - right next door to the Old Roundhouse Prison
Visit www.carterstudios.com.au and click "Map" for directions.

Opening Night: Wednesday 9 April 2008. - 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Exhibitions runs Wednesdays to Sundays only till 27 April 2008 (10:30am - 5:00pm)

Brooker Furniture & Fine Art Gallery.

Having my work in at Brooker Fine Art & Furniture on an ongoing basis is something I value highly. It is sort of like having my own gallery without actually having to have a gallery. Glen Whistler-Carr and all the Brooker people are wonderful to work with and it is fantastic being able to display my work amongst such quality furniture and accessories. My work will bump out from Brooker as of the beginning of April for the FotoFreo08 period.

I am however delighted to let you all know that it will be returning back to Brooker after FotoFreo08 and my work will be rotated with new different prints on a regular basis from then onwards. In the meantime if you want to see something different down at Brooker call in for FotoFreo but don't forget to walk a bit further up the street to the Old Roundhouse and see me at Carter Studios..

What We Have Been Doing

Christmas Island
Once again we visited Christmas Island to hopefully meet up with the whalesharks, hammerheads and Red Crabs. Unfortunately due to some nearby cyclonic activity the sea was very stirred up and the whalesharks proved to be deep and uncooperative until the last few days of our trip. Again, the hammerheads knew I was there and teased me with passing by just behind me when I was not looking and I had the incorrect lens on anyway ;-)

Cocos Islands
We have also just returned from the Cocos Keeling Islands. My trip was hosted by Cocos Dive and Cocos Tourism and this was work in the form of gaining images and coverage both above and below water that can be used for promoting tourism to the islands. I was also there to cover the very social and yet still quite exciting ocean swim event, the Cocos Lagoon Swim. For those who participated in the swim or with an interest in it, I intend to have photographs of the event on my website in the near future.

Normally our visits to the Cocos Islands have been totally orientated towards diving and this opened our eyes to the other great aspects of the islands like glass bottom boat snorkelling tours, motorised canoe tours and cultural tours to Home Island. Much thanks to Cocos Dive and Cocos Tourism for their support and assistance. For those of you that have not yet visited the islands we recommend them highly.
