Mauve-tipped Cerianthus tube anemones like this one in the Swan River estuary are found in profusion on the silt and sand bottoms of deep estuaries and harbours of the southern regions of Western Australia. I photographed this one at slack tide. During strong tidal flow the tentacles reach out with the tips all bending in the same direction, but silty water during strong tides limits visibility and hence, photographic opportunities.
