As I approached this pink anemonefish it turned towards me quite concerned by my proximity. As I moved even closer it darted into the tentacles of its host anemone and kept peering out to see if I had moved away. Anemonefish have a symbiotic relationship with anemones. Even though the anemone can sting, paralyse and eat other small fish, the anemonefish are immune. Anemonefish "tend" the anemone, cleaning and even feeding the anemone by passing food into its mouth. In return the anemonefish receive a home safe from predators.
